Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, is one of its first kind in the whole of North East and fourteenth amongst the Open universities in India. KKHSOU was established by the Assam Legislative Assembly by an Act (XXXVII of 2005) in 1995. The Act received the assent from theGovernor on 7th September, 2005.
